Valentines Day Make-up Tips

It’s February, and we all know what this month entails- Valentines day- the day of love.
Before cupid’s arrow strikes you, I’ll be showing you a few tips for the perfect Valentines Day makeup!
Pre-valentines preparations.
I suggest you spend some time pampering your face. To ensure that healthy, bright and glowing face, skipping on the masks and exfoliation routine is a big no no. So invest in some skin pampering time. Trust me on this one.
Eyes
The eyes, in my opinion, are the most important part- especially during Valentines Day. After all, you will be spending a lot of time staring in each other’s eyes!
When it comes to the eyes, use a shimmery light color eye shadow (light pinks, champaign, and gold – avoid white/silver as its too harsh) on the inner third of tear duct area, and drag it to the lower lash line. This just helps brighten your eyes and give the illusion of bigger brighter love struck eyes!
With whatever color theme you choose for your eyes, remember to keep the eye look soft, dreamy and romantic. This means lots of blending, and using ‘windscreen wiper’ motions instead of the ‘patting’ motion!
Using brown eyeliner helps give this overall look a softer finish in opposed to black, which will give a more harsher and dramatic look, which is totally not what we want to go for on Valentines Day.
And before I forget to mention, eye shadow primer is a big MUST. Something I never skip out on whenever I apply eye shadow!
Face
I like to keep my face simple and glowing and yes, even oily skinned girls can get away with this look. Foundation wise, use a satin/dewy finish one (girls with oily skin, stick to matte).
Apply a light pink colored blush onto the apples of your cheek to achieve a slight blushed look! Whether the blush has shimmer or is matte, that is completely up to you.
Lastly, be sure to highlight (cream/liquid for dry skinned girls and powder for oily skin) and contour your skin, just to complete the look and bring some color to the face.
Lips
I recommend using the chosen lipstick color as a stain. Because nothing screams sexy about lipstick stains on glassware and his/her cheeks.
To achieve this, simply pat the lipstick onto your lips, then using your fingers blend it out. Once that’s done, get a tissue and lightly press onto lips to blot off any access lipstick! Better yet, use a product that is designed to stain.
And, that is all!
Have an absolutely lovely and enjoyable Valentines Day, no matter what you do, and who you spend it with!
Till next time,
Karla
