Top 3 Holiday Party-Ready Make Up Tips
It’s that time of year again, time to set out the Christmas turkey and party the night away. Here are some tips to make sure you’re ready for this holiday season.
1. Long Lasting Make-Up
Even though you’re out and about running from party to party, it’s definitely important that your make-up lasts as long as you do. Before you apply your make-up, apply a primer or a long lasting foundation. These foundations often have skin polymers that help the foundation sit on the skin longer than other regular foundations. To make your make-up even more long lasting, remember to set it. Set your foundation with a powder by not just dusting the powder with a brush but taking a powder puff and pressing the powder into the make-up to set it. Set your gel liners with a black eye-shadow to make it stay even longer.
2. Classic Red Lips
The classic red lip is a must-have during the holidays and getting the perfect red lip can be easy. First, you’ll need a red lip liner. Line the contour of your lips starting with your cupids bow and lightly trace the rest of your lip. Then, fill in your lips with the red lip liner. This lip liner trick will stop your red lips from bleeding into the surrounding skin and make your lipstick last a little longer. Now apply a red lipstick on top of the liner you regularly would making sure you stay within the lip liner area. If you want to make your lips last even longer, blot your lips and then set your lipstick with a transparent finishing powder and then apply another layer of lipstick. This will help keep you looking lip perfect during those long Christmas lunches without emergency touch-ups.
3. Clutch Essentials
But even with all the prepping and priming before you apply your make-up, you should always carry a small touch-up bag in case. This small bag should include the lipstick of the day, eyeliner, a powder to touch up, a pot concealer, blotting sheets and a mini vial of perfume. You can multitask with your lipstick and use it as a cream blush when you need to freshen up by taking a bit of lipstick on your finger, dotting your cheek and blending the color out with another finger. Just apply your lipstick as normal for a great look. When you touch-up, blot first, apply concealer if needed, blush and lipstick, and then add a bit of powder to set and to control shine.
So there you have it, a few simple party ready tips to keep you in shape for the holiday season! Have a great Christmas!
